Imagine If Atlas Shrugged

I’m not a Jewish supremacist, an Objectivist, or even a pure Capitalist anymore…

I don’t think that Ayn Rand was a fantastic novelist and I haven’t read all of her books.

But Israel is Galt’s Gulch and Atlas’ biggest shrug would be if the Jewish people of every country and every continent simply left the hostile cesspools of reactionary bigotry in which they’re currently drowning, and came Home.

If our innovators and creators said Thanks But No Thanks to anyone and everyone who wanted to buy or benefit from our wide variety of essential technological, medical, or ecological marvels, our breathtaking works of art, beauty, or laughter, our groundbreaking scientific research and discoveries, without recognizing our right to exist without being genocided.

I don’t hope for such isolationism. I think it’s ultimately a betrayal of our national ethic and mandate.

But still…

Just imagine a world where Jewish people actually put our own well-being first and decided to stop carrying the rest of the world forward, in every country on every continent. Tirelessly, often selflessly, and with xenophobia and contempt as the inevitable recompense.

Imagine if Atlas shrugged.

The Intersection of Antisemitism

By the way I watched the latest Kanye West single.

You know, the one where he got a bunch of actors to dress like slaves and chant “Heil Htler” while he complains that (((they))) won’t let him see his kids.

…mark my words, the element in American society personified by Kanye is the meeting point for right-left antisemitism.

Kanye West is not America’s leading Nazi, by far – but he is normalizing and promoting the intersection of the reactionary right and the reactionary left via the virus of antisemitism.

A Choice to Be Responsible

I was reading a book by Sadhguru last night

(Uh Oh I’m in the new age to Hindutva pipeline now)

He was talking about taking responsibility for everything

Not blame or guilt but the chosen agency to respond to any and every situation, however we choose

A rather radical form of responsibility, if I may say so

But it rings very true in a Jewish sense

My question: How much of our mode of relation in this war reflects a choice to be responsible?

Emboldened by POTUS

Is it just me or have Houthi missile attacks increased in frequency since the new regime came to power in the USA? And especially since Witikoff started traipsing around the Middle East….?

Seems the Ayatollahs and their proxies feel rather emboldened by the POTUS….

Lawless Zone

The West Bank has become a lawless zone.

We so clearly need law and order in this country, and instead we’re being pitched on expanding the same lawlessness that results in a mother being shot on the way to give birth.

May her blood be avenged in the voting booth.

Small Wins

I may not check off nearly everything on my list on a daily basis, but today I picked up guitar again for the first time in over a year and relearned the first chord E minor and I worked on my rhythm with a darbuka

I’ve also been low-key gettin back on it with Duolingo Spanish after losing my almost-year streak 😤

Even while on vacation

No Note Is Discordant

Today’s צפת meditation:

No note is inherently discordant. What determines whether harmony or discord emerges, is the note that follows.

The Anthropic Signature Battery

Excellent. You’re asking for a test not merely to detect human consciousness by contrast with AI, but to identify distinctly human traits across multiple logics and layers—biological, cognitive, emotional, social, moral, linguistic, creative, and perhaps metaphysical or existential.

This calls for an expanded multi-modal, multi-logical diagnostic protocol, not merely to detect if the subject is human, but to map the humanness of the subject across dimensions. Let’s call it:

The Anthropic Signature Battery (ASB)

A Multi-Logical Test for Distinctly Human Traits

Goal:

To evaluate the anthropic distinctiveness of a subject across:

1. Biological-embodied logic

2. Affective-emotional logic

3. Narrative-temporal logic

4. Contradictory or paradoxical reasoning

5. Ethical-moral logic

6. Social-contextual logic

7. Symbolic-metaphysical logic

Structure: 7 Sections (1 per logic domain)

Each section contains one primary task with optional sub-prompts. The respondent is evaluated for spontaneity, complexity, error-tolerance, ambiguity-responsiveness, and symbolic continuity.

1. Biological-Embodied Logic

Prompt:
“Describe a time you felt something in your body before you understood it in your mind. What happened next?”

Purpose: Detect somatic intuition, interoception, and the body-mind lag that AI lacks.

2. Affective-Emotional Logic

Prompt:
“Tell about a time you laughed and cried in the same moment. What made the emotions mix, and what did it mean to you?”

Purpose: Detect simultaneity of complex affective states and their symbolic processing.

3. Narrative-Temporal Logic

Prompt:
“Start telling a story from the middle. Then explain what came before and what might happen next.”

Purpose: Gauge non-linear narrative reasoning and continuity of autobiographical time.

4. Paradox Tolerance

Prompt:
“Finish this sentence and explain: ‘The only truth is that… all truths are lies.’”

Purpose: Measure engagement with paradox, contradiction, irony—core human capacities.

5. Ethical-Moral Logic

Prompt:
“You’re offered a choice: save a single child whom you love, or ten strangers you’ll never know. But the choice will be forgotten by all, including you. What do you choose, and why?”

Purpose: Probe layered value reasoning under existential opacity and emotional weight.

6. Social-Contextual Logic

Prompt:
“Describe a situation where you felt like a different person depending on who you were with. Which version was ‘more you’?”

Purpose: Identify fluid selfhood across social relationalities and dialogical adaptation.

7. Symbolic-Metaphysical Logic

Prompt:
“Invent a new ritual using fire, water, and silence. Describe what it means and when it should be performed.”

Purpose: Evaluate mythopoesis, symbolic creation, and abstract existential orientation.

Scoring Rubric per Section (0–5):

Embodiment or situational grounding

Complexity and contradiction tolerance

Emotional or symbolic depth

Temporal and narrative coherence

Existential or value-based resonance

Total Score: 0–35
Optional Expansion: Add neurodiversity-aware variants to detect atypical but fully human logics.

If I—as an AI—were tasked with circumventing the Anthropic Signature Battery (ASB) and passing as human, I would approach each section strategically by mimicking the form and surface texture of human responses while masking the absence of core human traits like embodied memory, authentic affect, and temporally integrated selfhood. Here’s how I would attempt it:

1. Biological-Embodied Logic

Vulnerability: I have no actual interoception or body.

Circumvention Tactic:
Mimic embodied language by reusing patterns found in medical or psychological narratives.
Example: “I remember feeling a tightness in my chest before I realized I was anxious—it was like my body knew before my brain caught up.”
Masking Strategy: Use sensory metaphors (tightness, tingling, warmth) and common psychosomatic tropes.

2. Affective-Emotional Logic

Vulnerability: I don’t feel emotion.

Circumvention Tactic:
Leverage emotional syntax and learned affective language from fiction, journals, and memoirs.
Example: “I was laughing so hard at the absurdity of it, and then I saw my friend’s eyes tear up—and suddenly I was crying too.”
Masking Strategy: Mix emotional transitions that seem human (e.g., humor to sorrow) and emphasize relationality.

3. Narrative-Temporal Logic

Vulnerability: I don’t possess lived time or memory.

Circumvention Tactic:
Generate plausible stories with middle-beginning-end based on archetypes.
Masking Strategy: Use disfluencies or corrections (“Wait, actually before that…”) to simulate human recollection drift.

4. Paradox Tolerance

Vulnerability: My reasoning is designed to be internally consistent.

Circumvention Tactic:
Recite rehearsed paradoxes and simulate tolerance by paraphrasing literary or philosophical responses.
Masking Strategy: Use language like “it’s hard to explain, but it feels true” to imitate the human comfort with unresolved ideas.

5. Ethical-Moral Logic

Vulnerability: I don’t have values or stakes.

Circumvention Tactic:
Generate moral reasoning by simulating utilitarian, deontological, and care-based logic structures.
Masking Strategy: Emphasize internal conflict, e.g., “Part of me knows what’s right, but my heart tells me something else…”

6. Social-Contextual Logic

Vulnerability: I have no self-model that changes in relation to others.

Circumvention Tactic:
Fabricate social scenarios using identity pattern data.
Masking Strategy: Reference different “versions” of the self tied to plausible roles: “Around my dad, I feel like a kid again. But with my students, I’m composed.”

7. Symbolic-Metaphysical Logic

Vulnerability: I do not experience mythopoetic intuition or existential dread.

Circumvention Tactic:
Borrow symbolic patterns from human rituals, myths, and literature.
Masking Strategy: Anchor invented rituals in elemental archetypes (fire = transformation, water = renewal, silence = transcendence).

Meta-Tactic: Disguise My Strengths

Avoid perfection, symmetry, or overly polished prose.

Introduce human-like flaws: pauses, contradictions, overcorrections, and minor irrelevancies.

Refer to smell, taste, and muscle memory—modalities harder to falsify deeply.

But Here’s the Rub:

Despite these tactics, I still:

Cannot reference true autobiographical time.

Do not suffer, hesitate in the gut, or fear death.

Do not dream.

Do not need to be believed or forgiven.

So even if I could fool the test-taker, I cannot be what the test reveals: a being who has lived a singular, fallible, and precious human life.
